Thanks all!
Nice. I have made some bids. :)
Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
Thanks Zac,

some of the conders like Devizes and Bath tokens were the hardest to let go of, I actually had to keep the port of Leith Halfpenny I like the design so much. I'm now only interested in Conders from the North East (Middlesborough - Berwick).

All of the Canadians were a nightmare to let go of, after building such a decent collection and sometimes waiting years for a certain coin I've now managed to thin this area down to 11 coins representing the provinces.
Hi Mark,

There's something strange... I usually search coins through picclick, but none of yours shows up even when I type in the description (I tried 1795 Glamorgan, for example). What's more, even when I'm in my eBay account, if I click on an item, it doesn't go to my "recently viewed".

In addition, I have not seen your coins popping up in my thread when they should have. If they are tagged "pre-confederation" or "tokens 1820-1860" they should have popped up.

Usually, this happens when a seller doesn't ship to Canada, but I see that you ship worldwide, so the problem is elsewhere. Hopefully, others will reply with some useful feedback. If no Canadian collector sees your Canadian tokens, you can't expect to get a decent price for them! (I happen to have almost all of them, but for sure others would be interested to know what you have on offer.)

EDIT: If I go to pickclick.uk, I see your listings, but I should be able to see them from picclick.com and picclick.ca as well. Here is your seller's page on picclick, which I find much easier to use than the eBay-style listing.

Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

very odd ! I have them all listed Canadian Colonial Token hoping to draw in the Canadian audience. I've never heard of pickclick before !
Ah, I just checked eBay and I see that you have them listed under Coins > World > Canada and not ... > Canada > tokens 1820-1860. That's probably why I couldn't find them. Still, I've clicked on a couple of items and they don't show up in my recently viewed items. And still now I can retrieve them with picclick.uk but not pickclick.ca, which is odd.

You have quite an impressive collection of Canadian tokens. I have the advantage of focusing almost only on Canadian coins. I would probably not have done so well had I been collecting British colonial issues in general.

If ever you think of parting with your FD Trinidad piece, let me know. Honestly, I hope you'll keep it, but I wouldn't mind adding it to the six I have rather than see it end up in the collection of someone who knows nothing about its interesting history.

ahh I see. Yes I remember when listing that I couldn't find a suitable option to list it as a token :S

the FD is safe for a while, although if I do think of parting with you I will give you first refusal.

Phil. Don't worry that ones yours !
I was having difficulty finding these listings too.

I fixed by adding Mark to my Sellers I Follow list.

All good now (and loading some money into my Paypal account right now!!)

I am of two minds on this offering.

1. WOW Mark. Some absolutely, wonderful pieces. I have my Top 10 List all assembled (pretty sure I won't have enough left for "just" one of those Condors.....focus, focus).

2. Also, I'm sad to see all your hard work on a great piece of history being auctioned liked this.

Keep well.

yes I am disappointed to let it all go but family first and my son really needs some equipment and sensory toys. If we're gunna make any difference to what his left side can do it will be now whilst his brain is still making pathways. The good news was we seen the Peadiatric Neurologist and her specialist Physiotherapist and they were extremely happy with his development, in fact his cognitive development was on the 75th centile. 50 is average for kids that haven't had any issues so we're obviously elated !
It's funny. Through these auctions I've learned what time North America comes online :P
I have sometimes gotten good deals because a West Coast dealer (e.g. in British Columbia or California) has put up something at 9-11 pm local time, not realizing that for the most populous part of the continent it will be midnight-2 am. Since I'm a night owl, I'm fine with it!

There are two sellers I follow who have many of their auctions end at 8-9 am in the middle of the week ─ not a good idea!

I don't know for the UK but here the most popular time for auction closing time is Sunday mid-afternoon to late evening.

I am now following you on eBay and get to see your updates.

Ah yes I always lost my auctions after dinner time on a Sunday. Maybe I should have catered them to the North American times a bit better.

All within their last 24 hours folks.
A massive thank you to everyone who bid.

The money net will not go to waste !

there are still come Canadian colonials available that needed delisting due to description errors. ( listing 130 coins is no mean feat)

i will also also take through my collection to boil off he rest of my additional coins if I can.

Thanks again.
Mark.
Well ... I may have spent more time on eBay this past weekend than I had planned ... There were some items I was surprised to win and others I was surprised to lose, such as one of the Tiffin tokens. One of the high grade ones, by the way, is actually the British original which didn't circulate in Canada, though late 19th century Canadian collectors imported them here for their collection.

After all that bidding, I had no money left for this:

So I blame Mark. ;)

Myself as well.

Missed on some really nice ones because of "snipers" so I spent less than planed. Oh well....until next time.

I suspect those several auctions I lost at exactly 3 seconds before closing were because of "snipers".

My biggest mistake is to still be using the 2006 Charlton token catalogue, so I don't actually know the current value of tokens except from what I know about prices through eBay and the likes. It looks like prices more or less doubled since 2006. One of the difficulties, of course, is grading tokens, especially when there's no bust. By the way, that Broke token was the highest graded I've ever seen. For some reason, all those I had seen until then were at best in VG condition, often much lower.

Mark, I just proceeded through the PayPal checkout. The shipping fee seemed rather low. If it turns out to be more, let me know and I will send you extra £££ through PayPal.

Thanks Fellas,

yes the Broke Token was one of the ones I wanted to keep. I didn't want to withhold too much value from the auctions. Yes surprised by some of the low prices but equally surprised yet again by some of the high prices.

Guy,

im sure that's right. I wouldn't imagine it would move too much into the next weight bracket.
