1922 one penny UK coin

3 posts
Hi I have a 1922 one penny coin. It is not the best condition and I have been trying to see if it the rare 1927 reverse or the not rare 1922. Due to the condition it is not obvious to me in the usual signs to find out. I am thinking it is the more common one but hopefully someone can confirm.
I'm sorry, I'm unable to help. But I'm very interested in the response as well.

While you're at it though you may want to ask about that tragic corrosion. Perhaps Fluke has some time to look at it.
It is the normal 1922 coin.
From what I can remember, the way to tell is the thumb on the shield - the
normal coin has a fat thumb, and the 1922(27) version it is smaller/thinner.

Yes - I remember it as the last pictures on the page ...

are mine. Also the rim teeth are longer on 1922(27) version.
