Added 350lbs to the weight of the first one. Haha, I hope the buyer never has to haul too much.
Is it just me or does the floor not sound like much of a savings? The estimate they got was £1000, which was more than they could afford...but £700 worth of pennies, plus a week of work for the owner "and staff", which implies at least two other people. Plus they then had to pay someone to grout it.
That said it was probably worth it for the walk-in traffic they get.

it would certainly reduce their advertising budget
I saw a similar floor at a restaurant named The Butcher and the Boar in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA a few weeks ago. It was made completely out of US Pennies. I should have taken a picture, but was enjoying their great craft beer selection a little too much to think it through.
This summer, I was in a shop in Hafnarstraeti, Akureyri, Iceland, where part of the floor was covered with the demonetized copper Aurar coins. Which I found disturbing, as I am still missing them in my collection.
