Hi !
Just found this coin, with large die cracks : from 1/3 right top to 1/3 of bottom,
and from left to right, on 1/3 of the height.
As usual, it's better seen with the coin in hand, scan on 600dpi.
As the coin is in a rather good condition, would you think it adds to the value ?
Thank you for your opinion !
Tony
Die Crack would be raised. A Die Crack is on the Die itself not on the planchet so when the Die strikes the blank the metal flows into the crack on the Die. I say Lamination. Little value unless you collect these errors.
I wish we could have a forum for just Coin Varieties and Errors. The ID one is just too busy. One of the best die cracks I have found ,and need to send to ED is this one
I very much would like to start a post for just Mexico coins for both Varieties and errors but it just gets lost with all the good work done on this post.

Check this site out to explain Lamination:

The crack lines are raised, just not clear in the scan. I'll try to make better pics later tonight.
Most early Francoist coinage is defective in one way or another. In fact, in the case of the 2,5 peseta coins 1953*54 and 1953*56 (yours is *56), the weird thing would be to find one well minted. I am sorry to say it does not add to its value.
