I am about 1/3 of the way done on sorting my UK coins. And found out so far I have an extra 60 of the UK 2 p coin just from 1971, Put them in a jar an now want to see if I can fill it. Just a way to keep them all. Oh so far I have somewhere around 150 more 2 p coins from other years. And about 10 to 15 lbs to sort. I think I have a problem.
Can't wait till France. Just found another 1/2 liter jar of 1 franc coins. Oh the joys of coin hoarding.
It is, what it is, or is it.
I have collected the UK half pennies since they were issued in 1971 and have almost 2,000 of them in a bottle, but do not have either 1983 or 1984.
Strange thing is, that I do not hoard any other coin.
Perhaps one day they will become scarce and I will be a millionaire?????????

you know you have a problem, when you cannot spell problem right(;0
Well muzz0000 sorry that is normal for me. spelling is so over rated.
It is, what it is, or is it.
Prolbem - When the problematic nature of something is subjective, such has having too many coins! A problem? Maybe, depending on who you ask. :8D

How big is the jar?
I was being relatively modest - I only have around 3,000 of Canadian small pennies and (probably) around 5 or 6 hundreds of commemorative Canadian quarters 0:)
Apart from this, I've recently downsized my collection from more than 5,000 coin to less than 2,300 and am considering further cuts to it X-D

I have over 14,600 coins, and I have no problems with any of them. They are very obedient and stay exactly where I put them. Once organised they stay organised.
I am hoping that the next 400 coins are just as well behaved and mix in with my existing coins extremely well.

Allred1950,
You have to be very firm with them and explain that if they misbehave, they will be moved to another building, which means sold. They most probably like where they are, so, a little chat with them, will resolve the whole situation.
If it works for over 14,000, then it should work for any amount.

I could give some a new home if you want
Allred1950,
Having reviewed your recent comments on this forum, I am now sure of where the problem lies.
As I only collect by type, there is no rivalry between any of my coins for a permanent place in my collection, whereas you collect many on the same type, causing bickering amongst those type of coins for the one that will finally be awarded its own place.
So, my solution would be to collect by type.

The above comments were achieved after consulting with coins from my collection and listening to their advice, as they are the real experts.

Oh my! Just to get them I would fly over and wait for you in the parking lot to make an offer you couldn't refuse. If I only knew...
