I got that coin while shopping n I found it very strange so I kept it with me. How can I find someone who can buy or it must have nice value for it right so please guide me
It would be interesting to have a high def picture of the blank side. This would help to determine how it happened. It is either PMD (post-mint damage) or else, if it happened during the minting process, it had to be lying on some blank surface or it was minted with some sort of blank upper die.
Perhaps it's a trial piece that should never have gone into circulation?
It looks like it is not pmd, there are no traces of sanding the blank site.
So it is a nice find, and I can not find anything on internet about this event
Non est totum quod splendet ut aurum
Rijkdom bestaat niet uit het hebben van veel bezittingen, maar in het hebben van weinig behoeften
I agree it is probably an error rather than PMD ─ possibly two blanks stuck to each other were struck at the same time, or else it's a trial strike, i.e. it was intentionally struck like this to examine the quality of the strike from a new die or for some other reason.
If you want to sell it, I think the best would be to have it certified first, because no-one will be willing to pay big bucks without being absolutely certain it's authentic.
I have never had any coins certified, but others on this forum will be able to help you. I'm pretty confident the price will be well worth it... or else you will get the bad news that it is nothing special, but at least you'll know for sure.
So, let's wait and see what other Numista members have to say on this!
