'the greatest team'? They have never won the Champions League :D

Everyone knows the greatest team the world has ever seen is the All blacks. They've only lost like 1 game in the last 3 years.

donkey.. LOL

big claim for a team that's won nothing for years. Don't get me wrong I wish Newcastle were as good but you'll be back to shouting Wenger out next season. I hope he walks for his sake. You'll be sorry without him I reckon another Man U scenario is on the cards !
The calculation for the world's greatest team on the "beat the champions" claim is still going on, but it's unlikely to be Arsenal. Current re-checked information is up to the 1965/66 season with FK Vojvodina; sadly the trail appears to be going cold in late 1967 with NK Neretva Metkovic (a 3rd tier Yugoslav team), but hopefully some Croatian contributor with access to a good newspaper archive will be able to continue it further.

If we limit it to English teams, the current greatest team is Liverpool, after a victory over West Ham two weeks ago. Arsenal appears to have held the title for the most total matches (282), however.

winning the champions league doesnt make you a good team.

How's the winning 3 FA Cups in the last 4 years could be called "won nothing for years"??? And I never want Wenger to leave. Kroenke and Usmanov need to leave Arsenal alone. Sometimes I'm confused with Wenger's players selection, but everyone makes mistakes.

:O

seriously though nobody cares about the FA cup until the semi's. A club like ours it's a cup worth winning but for the former invincibles and former mainstay of the champions league it's a bit more like a wooden spoon. I like Venga ;) he's a good manager and every time i see wenger out signs I cringe. You do wonder where they would be without him and I believe they're more likely to do a Man U than get better without him.

Premier league is the toughest and the best league in the world, bla bla bla, but still it's too hard for English clubs to dominate European competitions and English national team is a one huge flop...

P.S. I'm a Manchester United supporter.

have a re- read of what I said... I never said it was the best league. The premier league is probably the most competitive and certainly one of the most lucrative. It's the best to watch. The best teams belong to other leagues likes of your Bayern Munich, real, Barca, PSG etc etc.. they are however playing against for the most part much more inferior opposition.

I have to agree with Geordie about Premier League's being the most competitive in the world. Being 4th in the Premier League is like winning World Cup!
Just look at the Premier League managers and their cups this season... ;)

BTW, I'm happy to see Newcastle back in the Premier League again. I kind of like them, especially when they had Beardsley, Waddle, Keegan, Gascoigne and later Ginola, Les Ferdinand and Shearer.
I miss those times... 8)

I'm only old enough to remember the entertainers just ! Yes I feel like in recent years we've been on the wrong side of the media and they're still banging on about unreasonable expectations when the truth is all we wanted to see was a team try.

I like the cup thing though. Spurs have been the greatest underachievers this year though. Another trophyless season next time round and they'll lose their top players like I'm sure of it. I can see Kane playing for one of the big European teams !
See the best team the world has ever had the luxury to witness HERE doing what they are used to doing so often. ;)

same here. That real team has some fantastic players though. CR7 is the best player I've ever seen. I only say that he's better than messi because he's done it in the PL too not just one league. What a goalscoring record !
I will only say one thing ... WACCOE.

If you know what that means you will know the meaning of being cheated.

Quote: "January First-of-May"The calculation for the world's greatest team on the "beat the champions" claim is still going on, but it's unlikely to be Arsenal. If we limit it to English teams, the current greatest team is Liverpool, after a victory over West Ham two weeks ago. Arsenal appears to have held the title for the most total matches (282), however.
The calculations have recently been finished; the current holder is in fact Pau FC, in the Championnat National (French 3rd tier), due to defend away at Feytiat (6th tier) in the French Cup 6th round on Sunday. Arsenal (and in fact any English team) had not held this title since at least the 1950s (though Dundee United of Scotland had briefly held it in 1985).
It had gone as far down as 8th tier before; three 8th tier clubs have held the title - US Turcs Bischwiller, FC Obermodern (both April 2008), and CE Palavas (January-March 2015), all in France.

The English title is now with Leicester City, who have very successfully defended it in Southampton yesterday. Their next defence is away at Burton Albion in the League Cup.
Just as with the world title, it had gone as far down as 8th tier before, with Warrington Town, Kendall Town, and Ossett Albion (and then Warrington Town again) successfully holding the title in November-December 2014.
