doubt it. The mint wouldn't have been making indias coins then. Maybe depending on the date a gurenesey 3d but even then I'm not sure the RM was striking their money.
Quote: "jimpop"According to The Sun newspaper, coins like this are worth thousands of pounds.
i have seen a similar coin on sale at £100, still on sale a month later so maybe asking price was too high?
please dont believe a word the sun newspaper says, they said the 2016 12 sided pound coin was an extremely rare error, there are only half a billion 2016 coins in circulation
we do not own our coins, we are merely guardians of them for future generations.

guernsey had long stopped using scalloped 3d coins before this coin was struck. they had switched to decimal currency by then

It could be an error from a Hong Kong 20 cent coin. They were made by the royal mint it looks like the same size and shape.
Here is a picture of one of the original HK coins:
It could also be one of the new, not colonial HK coins that were released in 1993 (could have been made before that and released in 1993) (they were still colonial but did not have her majesty's face on the reverse. Instead they had the Bauhinia flower on the reverse, which is what the coins in HK look like today.)
Here is a photo of them:
They are the same shape and size but with different designs.
