Can anyone recommend a good coin shop in Riga and is there any flea market where I can find coins too? I'm visiting Riga on June 9-11.
In June 11 there will be a local collectors meeting in Riga 6th Secondary school, Aleksandra Čaka street 102. That happens from 9:00 till about 12:00 or a bit later and is visited by many Estonian and Lithuanian collectors, too.

Map you can find here: http://r6vsk.lv/kontakti/

If you will be in Riga, we can make a swap in person :)
Thank you for this info. I have to think about the swap also.
I'll be home in Riga on these dates also. Guys, some common coffee in the morning of 10.06. in old town probably? Olli, where will you stay in Riga?

From my side proposal sounds good 8)
Very good idea. My hotel is Wellton Riga Hotel. Actually I have my 16 years old daughter with me, but that does not change anything. I think we have planned something like flea market for Saturday, but I think those are not open before 11 AM.
So, very good! Anyway, I suggest You to visit this coin market on Sunday morning. MartinsLV can assist You,he is like permanent inhabitant there... ;)
After we can sit for a coffee.

Which market is a good coin market, the Central market, Spikeri or some other?
And yes, coffee break on Sunday is a very good idea.

All you mentioned, are regular markets. You can buy food and chinese clothes there. I recommend this collectors' meeting, what was mentioned by martins.lv at the beginning of this forum. You will be not disappointed. This event physically is organized as a flea market with hundreds of sellers and buyers of coins.

Yes, Kaspars is right. You will not find anything better than our local collectors meeting.

Probably there still exists a flea market, so called "Latgalite", where you can find some coins, but I am sure you will get nothing there. I doubt that many sellers in that place can communicate in English. But despite this fact coins (if you will find them) will become expensive when they will hear you speaking English(;0

Another thing about all those markets you shall know are the pickpokets. Last time when fellow Israeli collector arrived in Riga and walked in Central market, his iPhone changed the owner in discreet and unnoticeable way.

If you have free time and you want to find the coins, better go to this shop http://rns.lv/en/home/ in Old Town, quite close to your hotel. That would be safer and more civilized than walking in Central market.
By the way, do you have that coin: 5 euro Christmas Battles 2016? I have an order to get that coin from Riga. Then I will visit the local collectors meeting. Are you going to go there, is that a good place to meet?

Going to Riga 21.7.2024-30.7.2024. Maybe some body wanna swap or buy coins from me?
