More eBay woes

I recently purchased the last two Olympic 50ps I needed through a "Buy It Now" sale on eBay. Paid instantly through PayPal and waited...

Two days later I received a very glib email from eBay saying:

"We'd like to let you know that eBay has ended an item you were bidding on for breaching of one or more of our policies. As it's important that eBay maintains member privacy, we can't tell you exactly why the listing was removed."

Leaving me wondering whether the goods (which remember I have paid for) will be despatched or not. PayPal of course require me to wait another 5 days or so before I can request a refund and eBay are even less helpful.

I think, like some others here, I have absolutely had it with eBay and their cavalier attitude to fair trading. They cancelled a perfectly legitimate listing I made once, and refused to answer my queries about it.

I think we should all be VERY WARY about dealing through eBay either as a buyer or seller.

Hmm, maybe it's to do with the seller not being an Olympic sponsor or whatever and trying to make a profit out of it. Gotta love capitalism, that being the case.

It's never happened to me, but I agree Ebay is not so great these days. It's glory days are well and truly behind it.
I'm sorry to hear about that, Matt.

I love eBaY, but I agree the days when it was great are gone. I'm mostly a buyer, and my items are dispatched well. I must say I never had a problem.

EBaY is what made charity shops more expensive and that is what I hate it for.

Still I will keep an eye out on there...I would like to know how sellers get their hands on 20 WWF coins UNC in a bag? Any ideas?

Yeah, pissed me off. Having decided I had the full set accounted for, I have just swapped, donated, promissed, my Olympic duplicates rather than continuing to hang on to them only for swap with those I hadn't got. Teach me to be nice to people.

I'd love to know how sellers get Royal Mint BUNC Olympic 50ps in presentation packs and sell them for less than the Royal Mint?

Incidentally, I saw that auction for 20 WWF UNC in a sealed bag! I get the impression from some auctions that some of the sellers work in sub-post offices and filter the incoming bags of change delivered from the Mint, extracting the valuable stuff and flogging it on eBay.
