Online Stores

I'm not sure if this is appropriate, please don't hesitate to delete it if it isn't. I don't know if people like to keep their sources a secret.

As a new collector, and in this new online world, coin collecting can be a daunting endeavour. We have a user-compiled list of good eBay sellers but I was wondering what other options are out there.

Where do you all go when hunting down the next great piece?

I'll start with one of the only places I know, Colonial Acres Coins. https://www.colonialacres.com/
I've used them twice now. They deal largely in Canadian coins but do carry world coins as well. Others can correct me on this but I've found some pretty good prices. For me though I've found their service to be top notch. They're always quick to respond to questions or issues and I've found them very patient and accommodating.
Has anyone else had a good experience with them? Or a bad one?

What are some good coin vendors out there?

Again, if this is an inappropriate question to throw out there I'm sorry. Just send me a quick scolding and delete it if it is.
This is where I get most of my supplies as they are only a 20 minute drive away.

You are correct when you say mostly Canadian. I recently purchased some Cents from them at a decent price.

I give them full marks for their in-person service too.

I haven't purchased from them, but I find this store has a good selection of coins and banknotes: http://www.ehobbex.com/.
Maybe our European members have more information/experience with this online store.
Here are some sites that are cool:
https://www.usacoinbook.com/ - Large Variety of American and World Coins/Banknotes, and some stamps
https://www.numiscorner.com/ -French and World Coins and Banknotes
https://germancoins.com/ -German coins, World Coins, American Coins, and German Medals and tokens.
http://www.michael-coins.co.uk/ - British Banknotes and coins, some World Coins
These are updated to 2020

Thanks

Allens is my local coin shop. I have purchased many coins and banknotes from them. At their physical location, they have great bargain bins with world coins and banknotes. They have a great online selection too.
There are two New Zealand sites I have used who are brilliant are

Colonial Collectables: They have really good quality coins and often has good deals.

Otago Coin International: Decent guy to deal with and has some cheaper coins that would suit beginner collectors wanting to venture outside the basic coins and into ones you have to pay a few dollars for, but he also has plenty of top end coins as well.

I only collect banknotes & wasn't too impressed with their circulated examples. The clerk told me they had a big auction coming up (so little inventory to look at). I picked up my first 2 Standard Catalogues of World Paper Money (SCWPM) huge tomes which were reduced in price (thank goodness!). The shipping alone can be ridiculous on these.

I have been there twice to pick up my banknotes certified by Banknote Certification Services. They are mostly a friendly lot (& both SCWPM catalogues were priced right) but I prefer eBay as I've never bought a banknote from a shop that was priced as well as from an online auction platform.

This thread seems redundant to list out shop websites here. Most If not all of them are already listed under Outings > Shops & Markets.

if you do not find a particular listing you know about, I would encourage you to make a submission and I will be more than happy to approve it
