Largest/Thickest coin CURRENTLY (2017) IN COMMON USE (not including commemorative)

Hi guys,

I am designing a coin wallet, and was wondering what the largest coin in diameter and thickness exists CURRENTLY in 2017 that is in COMMON USE.

I currently am aware of:

- Hong Kong $10 coin (3mm thickness)
- Australian 50¢ coin (31.65mm ø)
- Costa Rica 500 Colones coin (33mm ø)

I am not interested in novelty coins, commemorative coins, or anything that is not in COMMON circulation (it's very unlikely anyone would carry them in their wallets).

I would be most grateful for any information you can bestow upon me.
Thanks for any info you guys can come up with!
Welcome, Alex

The largest currently circulating coin in our advanced search feature is 50 Francs from New Caledonia, ø33mm.

First very thick and bulky coin that came to my mind was the Swedish 10 kronor, which is apparently just behind the HK 10 dollars (which I've never seen) at 2.9mm thickness. Then I remembered the good old British round pound, which is actually slightly thicker at 3.15mm.
Sadly it's not currently possible to search by thickness; for all I know there's something even thicker.

That said, I highly suspect that a random person in the world (or even a random sufficiently wealthy person in the world) is more likely to want to carry an Eisenhower dollar (38 mm diameter) in their wallet than the New Caledonia 50 francs (or perhaps even the Costa Rica 500 colones), regardless of any lack of circulation of the former.
I mean, there are how many people in New Caledonia again? If an average American is 1000 times less likely to carry an Eisenhower dollar than an average New Caledonian is likely to carry a 50 francs coin, that still comes out to more of the former.

In a completely unrelated discussion, I was pointed at the Maldives 2 rufiyaa - even thicker than the British pound (3.3mm thickness).
