Shipping to Belgium

this is a message to avoid unpleasant situations...

incoming registered mail (to belgium) is checked by customs...

when declared value is above 45 euros, the person who is receiving the letter / package will have to pay a tax of 10 euros ! ( = minimum tax - the higher the declared value, the higher the taxes)
so maybe in some cases it might be interesting to send in different packages of lower value

greetings

Tony

Nasty. So if I send a packet stuffed with a few junk centimes, and declare the value to be 500 Euros, the recipient will be charged a small fortune? Not that I should be that evil...What's the address of the European parliament building in Brussels <G>

Matt
Nice idea.

You now have to find a sender address. After all, they might get a tax refund from the sender...

May I suggest:

10 Downing St.
London

Well, if the 'Nasty' party get their way, that will include UK.

UK post office also charge an £8 handling fee on some non EU items. Welcome to the club - Belgium!
