nguzman,
Well as far as Canadian 50 cent pieces go, I only have a couple...
I was lucky enough to get these ones:
1995, 1998
Everyone that I've spoken to up in Canada so far has kinda told me similar...The 50 centers are harder to get than the American one's I guess...The only one's that I've got from the states are one's when you'd go to the bank and ask if they have any. Usually, they don't, but once in a while I will catch one or two and get a year or two that I do not have yet.
Basically, I like to collect by year for the most part. I have all these Whitman USA Coin Books and I try to fill them up as much as I can really. Since I've been on here, I've managed to get quite a few more coins to help along my quest.
I basically collect common circulation stuff, nothing purposefully fancy. I don't care about silver very much, it's just not my thing really. Although I have managed to collect a few coins with silver in them.
My hope with this post is that I find a couple of sympathetic American Coin collectors that happen to notice my post here and perhaps a bunch of extra years that I don't have and need.
I have a bunch of 50 cent pieces with these years to trade:
1971-1974
1976's
1977-2000
I'd like to start out by getting a bunch of 80's and 90's 50 cent pieces, but I will take whatever I can find.
So my hope is really that someone will be like, "OK well...I see you need like these 10 or 20 fifty cent pieces with all these years, why don't you send me a bunch of your other 50 centers in a trade or whatever..."
Just like a 1 for 1 sorta trade like you'd do at a bank or grocery store.
That's how I've been able to manage getting some coins, just by trading what I got (face value for face value)
Which suits me just fine basically.
It's just something that I enjoy doing once in a while...
I guess the "newer" fifty cent pieces are not even in common circulation (like the more recent presidential coins) (although once in a while I find one I don't have here too).
It'd be cool to get them, but I want to try and get as many face value coins and trades as I can.
Plus, the shipping now days is rather outrageous, esp to Canada and back to the states!!!
I might even be willing to trade some of my extra Eisenhower, Susan B's or Presidential coins to get some 50 centers. Hopefully I will have some luck, but who knows...
Cheers!
