After a while languishing in the semi active ranks I've been slowly watching my swap list grow while sourcing coin lots from Listia and even eBay. It's getting up towards the 3,000 mark again so it's time to thin it out some.
I'm looking for problem free coins from Great Britain 1707 - 1970, 3rd Reich, the various forms of Rhodesia and Leper Colony tokens from the early 1900s. Also a few modern US key dates. With the exception of genuine rarities I avoid - Fine coins. If you have any of these coins to offer, let's talk.
I swap based on K&M values although common sense exceptions can always be made where the catalog value doesn't match the reality. I do NOT haggle based on meaningless auction results, I don't have the time or patience to scour through completed listing to research a $5 coin, that's what we have catalogs for. Other than that, no hard and fast rules. I don't care if I'm swapping silver for copper and vice versa.
My collection is publicly visible, so the easiest way to check if a swap is possible is to open it up and filter it by the countries listed above. If you can fill the gaps or upgrade the existing coins, then it's game on!
Due to shipping costs I swap mainly within the US but can occasionally be tempted out of my comfort zone for the right swap with the right person.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

Hi Phil, check my UK swap list, I might have a year or two you are missing (1929 sixpence, for example) and I think possibly some upgrades you might be interested in. I have a really pristine 1959 threepence that I can't see any wear on at all. I can send scans of anything you're interested in.
Good news Phil, great to have you back swapping again. I don't think I have much to offer from my list but let me know if you need help hunting down anything elusive and I would be glad to lend a hand
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.
I never really quit, but for the past year or so I've been making regular swaps with folks I know well and trust. I've not really been seeking out new contacts due to a lack of time and energy. That usually leads to an excess of surplus coins taking up space so I thought it's time to look for some new contacts.
I'll be a whirlwind of activity for a month or two before deciding whether to withdraw into my shell again or not.
I'm about to conclude my first swap with Jesse ^, nicely filling several album gaps and upgrading others, who can confirm I don't bite. I have a very strict policy of treating swap partners well, one time deals are not generally productive and just because you don't have anything for me right now doesn't mean you won't in future. I reckon that's they key difference between having an average collection and a great one. No man is an island etc....
