Lets clear a few things up shall we so Jarcek can stop sending me ridiculous messages.
Where on this site does it say that I am in any way obligated to interact with a BANNED TROLL ?
Just reading that sentence should be enough to put an end to this but for some reason certain members think I am being unfair/ unreasonable.
In the spirit of the contest I didn't object to the pairing and was willing to give the BANNED TROLL a chance.
If you can read the messages between us properly you can see that I was very polite/ open/ honest and accommodating.
The reply I got showed that he hadn't checked and was unwilling to send based on his own stupidity, that is his chance gone !!!
As a genuine member I am well within my rights to refuse any interaction with a BANNED TROLL ( As ridiculous as it sounds ) and I certainly don't need to defend my actions when I have actually given a BANNED TROLL an opportunity which he wasted.
There is a very good reason why the TROLL cant defend himself people, I think it is because he is BANNED and I think he might be a TROLL !!!
I will leave all of you to consider what Jesse Ventura would make of all this.
A BANNED TROLL is still having an effect on the forums despite being BANNED for TROLLING and now he has people feeling sorry for him despite being given a chance which he didn't deserve and which he wasted !!!
Sounds like a .............
I deny nothing but doubt everything, opinions are made to be changed, how else is the truth to be gotten at.
Quote: "Jarcek"Only one I am feeling sorry for is the person you deprived of Christmass gift, that Hamster was supposed to send.
And since you are naming me personally, I feel free to give out some of the pearls you gave me.
Please leave me out of your personal mind troubles here already. I have enough things to do even without being dragged through this madness.
tsk tsk ...apparently the bulk of us do not have the intellect to come to a rational decision . Its unfortunate you have to deal with this Jarcek. Keep your chin up as you've done. You don't need to try to have a conversation when the other party has already made up his mind
Quote: "nthn"I got from my gift from Tony28 yesterday. I, also, couldn't resist not opening. !!!!!! Unbelievable!! Over 90 French coins, all different dates, and then about 15 world coins! Dates from 1858 to 1994. All in plastic slip covers. Thanks Tony!

(Fine, but it's against the rules )
wow! that's mighty generous. I wouldn't have mind being on the receiving end . All the same, I am very thankful for the gifts I've received too!
Quote: "Cyrillius"Hello.
Sorry, I missed something.
Ninebobnote, nobody sent you a gift? If you want, I'll send you a coin?
Do not take into account acidic remarks of ninebobnote, he excluded himself from this exchange with his inadequate attitude. There is always a bit of ash, he doesn't matter.

That's very nice of you Cyrillus but there really isn't a problem, real or imagined, other than that of a second rate drama queen seeking attention.
I volunteered to be paired with one of our pet forum trolls known as The Hamster to avoid any acrimony. We know each other well enough outside of Numista and I was pretty sure he wouldn't let me down. A troll gets to enjoy Christmas too and there's a world of difference between a harmless bit of trolling and scamming people. I sent his gift as that was my part of the process, so there's no issue other than manufactured by a nasty and petulant basement dweller with too much free time.
By a very happy coincidence, at exactly the time I completed the above paragraph, the doorbell rang and our beautiful mail lady gave me a very hefty feeling package from my dear French counterpart in the exchange. I take this rather amazing coincidence to mean that even God thinks Ninebob is a manipulative fraud.
So.... one present out, one present in, where the problem? Well, I would suggest that the problem lies between Lyin'n Bob's ears and his much vaunted superior intellect isn't quite as kosher as he seems to imagine.
Let me repeat it slowly for the benefit of our resident idiot savant.... one present in, one present out. Once more...... one present in (received)..... one present out (dispatched). Got it now? I guess I can try crayons and puppets if it still hasn't sunk in.
I sincerely hoped that having been exposed as a complete liar he would have crawled under a rock somewhere and died of shame. After a long absence of this particular freak show I had some hopes that the forum would calm down and return to normal. Unfortunately not.
Crazy Frank wanting a fight to the death and posting his BDSM fantasies, Lyin' Bob making up stories about the hamster to stir up drama, that "Soumy" lunatic is spamming the Coin ID forum again right this minute with his 6th(?) account..... sorry guys, the Numista forum is becoming a farce. Even a simple exchange of Christmas gifts descends into a scene from Monty Python and the cast are allowed to remain no matter how off the wall crazy or dishonest.
Explain to me how, a serial problem child can make up a complete lie to derail a previously enjoyable event which people have spent a lot of time organizing and participating in, can possibly be allowed to remain here?
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

It was a noble gesture to start with, putting another member's name forward as they have been constrained from trading due to postal restrictions from Brazil.
When he first stated his reasons I offered to send the Brazillian member a gift separate from the Christmas gift thread and he sent me their address. I sent them a gift, then when this nasty business came up I passed that address onto Hamster and he said that he would post off something to the member for the Christmas giveaway. So all's well that ends well, Hamster gets to do something constructive rather than destructive, and the member in question still gets their Christmas present.

Everyone is getting the coins they're supposed to so there's no need for animosity. Let's just forget who said what, who did what, and just enjoy our Christmas.
Happy holidays everyone, even those that don't get a holiday
At no point have any of you accepted that what I have said is the simple truth.
The FACT that I was in anyway expected to interact with a BANNED TROLL in the first place is simply ridiculous.
All of this could have been avoided but a very small group of members seem to think that the site belongs to them and it doesn't matter what the rest think or want.
It is clear that although I gave a BANNED TROLL a chance this still isn't good enough for some people on here !!!
What if another member criticises me for attempting to include the TROLL, how do I reply to that ?
As I pointed out, I am well within my rights to refuse any interaction with a BANNED TROLL and for other members to attempt to force me into such interaction is beyond ridiculous.
If standing up for my rights to not interact with a BANNED TROLL and my refusal to be dictated to by a clique is too much for you then you are welcome to the TROLL and the forums.
No drama just a bunch of like minded fools who refuse to accept simple facts.

I agree with this. Is there no way to censure this person from posting in this topic ? I would hope that in a couple weeks from now this weirdo won't be able to continue ranting when we are all opening our little gifts and sharing the happiness and praising our gift givers.
If nothing else, can we give him a time out till early Jan so he can't sour the atmosphere any further?
Received my package from Ashlobo several weeks ago and it is patiently waiting under the tree for Christmas morning. Also have received a message that ludcor received his parcel in France, so on I am good on both ends and just waiting until time to open.
I am pleased to report that I have sent my gift and the recipient has confirmed delivery and I have also received my gift this morning so a very big thank you to my 'Secret' Santa!

Gift from Jimpop received! Instead of one, there are a bunch of coins in the parcel and several of them will directly go to my collection. Thank You, James, very much!
Every single coin on the world should meet its collector!
I'm very happy with my Christmas gift, Santa (Valdij) was really kind to me. Did got a bunch of coins who precisely filled the gaps in some of my Yugoslav series. It was a wonderful experience!
8am on Christmas here in New Zealand, merry Christmas everyone. I just opened my present and I got a lovely Portugese Timor coin and a postcard of an old windmill from my new favourite French member.
Quote: "radrick007"Merry Christmas to our Antipodean cousins, so jealous that you get to celebrate way before us Europeans!
It depends, we here in Czech republic give out Christmas presents after lunchdiner (4-5pm) on 24th.
We still hit Christmas day before you give out your presents then, we're just in the land of nod because it's about 4:00am....well my kids might be up by then
I received my present from Ludcor some while ago but resisted the temptation and opened it on Chrstmas morning. Thank you for a most appropriate gift my fellow collector!
I also have a message from The Hamster to let me know that he also received his gift.

... and they all lived happily ever after! I love a story with a happy ending and there have been many in this gift contest, mine included, so thanks to everyone that helped put it all together, a great success!

I received a very interesting commemorative 500 lire coin from San Marino, surrounded by a rosette of eight uncirculated Lithuanian 2 centai coins, along with a postcard from Riga, from Kaspars in Latvia - a very nice numismatic Christmas surprise for me!
This is a late answer but I effectively received my gift from BjornBelgium: Belgium 25 Centimes Leopold II (French text) 1908 and Luxembourg 10 Centimes Adolphe 1901. Stavros told me he is away from home the whole month so I'm still waiting for this, but I know I effectively sent it and there are very high chances he will like my coin.

I received (in addition to the scheduled gift from my new French friend) two very beautiful coins from the much maligned Hamster and a rather magnificent 20 Korun from Daryl. Thank you both.
I've already been able to thank Daryl but I'm currently in Facebook jail (again! long story) I haven't been able to message our rodent so I hope he's reading this. Despite the shenanigans of Ninebob it seems that the real spirit of Christmas still managed to shine sunlight through the clouds of cynicism and negativity.

Hello every one
I am sorry to say taht my christmas friend Potator II did not receive the coin i had sent him .
I promised to resend him another one on friday and a few extra ones ,
Maybe he was not good last year and santa forgot him
Well, I've been back in cabbagetown for the last week now and getting myself back into the daily grind.
ive been late to thank with all my heart, the generosity of my two gift givers... a little bit of travelling, work and a good dose of procrastination; but better late than never !
Je voudrais tellement remercier pyros09100 et Szmata encore une fois !
Quote: "Indi-K"Oh yes, sorry Ashlobo ... thank you again for my gift. Beautiful coins, I love!: 8D
The few words on the map were also nice ... thanks a lot !!
I am happy to report that today I also received a letter, a postcard from my beloved Vienna and a cool token from Donmart! Well, the snow I still have, so that counts.
Thank you!
