Hi. The Falklands issued a 50p coin to commemorate the opening of the airport. The catalogue lists a CuNi and a silver version. However, the silver version is listed as dated (1985) whereas the CuNi (which is identical other than metal) is listed as ND (1985). Should the coin be dated as 1985 or ND. It seems to me that the two catalogue listings should be consistent.
This is a result of new policy of ND coins. Commemoratives like this which show the actual commemorated date, which corresponds with actual minting date, should be shown as normally dated - 1985 in this case.
Hi Jarcek. Thank you for your reply. Having read your answer I tried to edit the CuNi version of the coin to change the year to 1985 instead of ND (1985). However, it will not let me because the year information has been confirmed as complete. Can you edit it or get it revised?
