Hi,

I have seen this letters on personal comments a couple times already when checking french coins. Can you please tell me what that means? Does the coin of this type looks different?

It means Proof in french. If a comment is only on one side (french/english) it shown on the other languages side.
Thanks Idolenz, I thought that maybe it is minted in BElgium, but now I got it.
Yes, equivalent to Proof. The letters stand for Belle Épreuve ...

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
My questions would be:

1. Why is it there in the first place .. ?

2. If it's allowed in FR, then why isn't it in all other languages also ... ??

And don't hand me the same old stuff of it being a French site. Any thing that is visible to the international community (not the French side) should be in English.

Do not argue with ignorant people .. !! They will drag you down to their level, then pulverize you with experience ...
Man ... come down a little.
Like I said ... if on one side, be it french or ENGLISH, a comment is written and on the other side there is nothing in the commen field you will see either (fr) bla bla or (eng) bla bla bla.
This is because most people who change or add stuff do it only in one language. A further reason those translator posts can't come early enough.
