Hello!
I have 1 Taka Bangladesh 1992 (১৯৯২ ?) (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces3165.html) - completely non-magnetic!
Krause SCWC says: Nickel plated Steel.

But they are the same as those Copper-nickel coins:
- 2001-2007 KM# 9c - https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1976.html
- 1975-1977 KM# 9 - https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces14760.html

Please help to understand. Where is the error?

Thank you.

Krause says:
1) The coins have christian era, using Bengali for the date
2) indeed it looks like 1992
3) the steel version is 9a (92,93,95) 6,1gr 25mm
4) brass version is 9b (1996-1999 and 2003) 3.98gr
5) the 9c has an octagonal, stainless steel (01,02,03,07)

Here you can see that the 1992 is stainless steel (RVS)

Stainless steel is non-magnetic
So your coin is KM 9a
So you found another error in Krause :) (and in Numista)

corrections welcome

"Stainless steel is non-magnetic" - ?:.
But not all:
Ferritic and martensitic stainless steels are magnetic. Annealed austenitic stainless steels are non-magnetic. Work hardening can make austenitic stainless steels slightly magnetic.

thanks for the explanation. I am Always learning...

Well, I can't tell what metal is made my coin. I can only say that it is non-magnetic.
I'll try to make images of the coins side by side this evening...
Do you think they would be different?
I think the steel coin looks very polished and shiny, the CuNi is dull and has lustre. Will know more when I look at the coins... at work right now
Left: Steel coin 25.02mm, 6.05 grams
Right: Cu-Ni 25.98mm, 6.06 grams
About a 1 mm difference in the diameter - both coins are non magnetic

Well.
Left: Steel coin 25.02mm, 6.05 grams – ১৯৯২ (1992); KM# 9a - I have the same, the question is for this coin.
Right: Cu-Ni 25.98mm, 6.06 grams – ১৯৭৫ (1975); KM# 9.

What does this mean? That's KM# 9a - just "non-magnetic steel"? 8~
Yes KM#9a is non magnetic steel.
Yes, I am always learning too.
