And do not feel like you are not good enough for the job, we are not crazy old men with tons of numismatic books. I for example, have only about 10 catalogues, all in pdf and 7 of them are different Krause editions...
I would like to be the referee for Finland because I'm actually doing research on my own on very rare finnish coins from 15th century (there's nothing mentioned about them online but they appear in auctions every once in a while) and the information for them can not be found online.
you'll be the judge to decide wether or not I am suitable for the job.
You only need to meet 5 simple conditions: - Wish to improve Numista catalog
- Be interested in the country's coinage
- Have access to some bibliography/documentation about the country's coinage
- Know how to read and write the country's language
- Have some experience with contributing to Numista catalog
Write me an application PM. Just try to answer those above-stated conditions in some way.
PS: It helps if you give us names of the catalogues you have access to.
PSS: If language is a barrier, feel free to ask me for list of countries without referees (or you can do research yourselves, it only shows you know the site) so we can look for other possibillities.
PSS: We do not bite.
I would be willing to take on the Yemenite states until a suitable referee comes up ? I have a little knowledge but it's an area I'm currently trying to improve in my own collection and I noticed there could be some improvements in our own catalogue.
i have some experience reading Farsi and Pashtun, and have 2015 copies of Standard Catalog 1901-2000 and 2001-2015, if we're that desperate for Afghan referees.
I can take any of the following (or all). Countries in bold are want I want the most.
Alderney
American Samoa Biafra British Antarctic Territory
British Honduras
British Indian Ocean Territory British Virgin Islands

I can take Belize; it is already in my AoE, thou they have a more British coinage relation it is still in my region and is also small, so I don't have problem in administrating it as well. Of course this implies I would want to administrate British Honduras as well as it is alone and is part of this one.
Numista referee for the "Viceroyalty of the New Spain" (most of it).
History through coins.
Eli V
I'd be willing to take on the three French ones; in particular French Indochina and Cochinchina. I've always had an interest in the region.
+ some of the European concessions in China (Hongkong and Kiauchau), the DW Indies and Puerto RIco.
I've always had a thing for tiny, far flung colonial posessions with rare coins.

Hopefully I will be a lot more active after next month and will be reliable. I thought India British had a referee because that is one of the main types/countries I would like to take over, India British is at the top of my want list.

I'm going to Korea in December to study for a about a year, so I wouldn't mind having North Korea as one of my babies But I see also that Oklahoma only is a referee for IoM, so I am willing to give NK to him. (But be prepared to get tons of change requests from me, haha! )
I will ve studying at Kyung Hee University in Seoul, and my the introduktion will be on December 13 (which is a Tuesday btw, phew! ). I will be there at least 6 months, probably 9, and then I'll see if I stay for another semester or if I'm too broke so I will have to return home.
My plan, and dream, is to get a job there and be able to stay for years and years, That would be awesome!
I love Korea, Korean food (not kimchi though, haha!), the people..and it'll be great to learn more about the culture and language as well. So yeah, I can hardly wait 'til December!
I sure will check out Chung Chang when I get home. I'm so bad with the provinses, haha!
Jarcek's probably sick of seeing me by now, but I see you still haven't got applicants for lots of English and French-language countries, from Gold Coast to Lundy, that are still vacant. I'm going to abandon my caims to places like Syrie & Liban, which require Arabic to administer, presumably- and go for some more referee-ships
Ceylon I'd love to take; due to it's inclusion of that other language which I find fascinating
Essequibo and Demerara, being an English colony, needs no language skills- I'll add it to my list of wanted exotic colonies
French cities I've never been particularly interested in collecting, but if noone else who speaks French wants her I'll take it
Gold Coast is another far-flung colony I'd like, despite sadly not being able to posess any of it's wonderful coins
(suprised Mark hasn't snatched this one up already)
Haiti too- French, no need for google translate
Lundy- Interesting little place, that, also English :)
Nigeria- English, with a nice colonial heritage- my cup o' tea
...and that's it. The Comoros Islands, the Central African States, and all those post-decolonization African countries that speak French I'd also be delighted to take if noone else wants them, but I'm at heart a historian, which is why I'm more interested in taking colonies' coins' refereeship.

what I already have keeps me really busy regardless I think the Gold Coast is as done as it ever will be now but I'll be happy to see someone keen too take it on :)
P.S. The coins are ridiculous to get a hold of I'm just so happy I managed too get one myself atall. I honestly thought it would be a coin I couldn't ever buy :D
As I see some issues with Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait
I volunteer to take care of them
However, I will be taking my time, as the work season has just started and at least for the next 1.5 months, I will be working almost full day - with a few days off
I can still spare few hours every week! :)

I am free now if India (British) is still available? My last hospital appointment this year is the 10th of November, so may be absent for a couple days after that to recover. I am more than happy to take the position.
British India coins are what triggered my love for QV gothic style design bust and the varieties are mind boggling. I have lost hours and hours researching the varieties, loved every minute.
