Great Britain Three Pence missing from catalog [solved]

6 posts
I've been searching through the catalog to fill in information on the coins I have collected. I work in an accounting office for a retail store in New York State and you wouldn't believe what turns up in our tills. I have here a three pence coin, year 1953, from Great Britain. I was rather shocked to find that it doesn't seem to exist in the catalog since everything else I have seems to be in it. I don't know if links to other coin sites are appropriate, but there is a better photo on another site than I could probably take with my camera: http://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coins?main_coin=14652

Edit: the 5 pence piece years 1985-1997 with Elizabeth II third portrait also appear to be missing from the catalog. I have one dated 1990. It looks identical to the other ones however except for the Queen's portrait.

Hello CallistaZM and welcome to the site. Please don't be concerned about wasting anyone's time here on the Forum; everyone has to start somewhere and it will take a little while to find you way around.

Another way to find a coin you're looking for, if you know where it is from, is to go to the catalogue tab and click on "Country list" which will take you straight to all the listings for any listed country, for example:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/royaume-uni-1.html

In answer to your query about the 1990 UK 5 Pence, there were actually 2 Copper-Nickel types issued for that year; firstly the large type:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces874.html

and then the small type:

If you have any other questions about coins you have picked up, please don't hesitate to post here on the Forum or if you prefer, feel free to send me a PM.
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.
