I'm pretty sure I've seen some Russian collecting sites with half a dozen varieties listed for every date, with pics and such.
I'd rather not have anything like that anywhere near the year lines - I collect a lot of low-grade coins where the specific variety might never be determinable (some British varieties get their differences completely worn down in any grade below EF), but even if it's possible to tell the variety in lower grades, it's silly to expect everyone who got that coin having to care about the specific variety. Hardly anyone collects them by variety.
This is why I think our coin pages should be , like layered. Show just what is normal , then hit a edit botton to show Varieties and one for proof coins. There are a lot of people who don't collect varieties or poof. You could show just proof coins or everything. The 1 Kopeck is like the US 1 cent you can find the mint mark everywhere. You can find at a angle , they even found sideways.
Would you like an 1988 1 kopeck with same variety
edit narrow and wide date rims are different.more space from rims to wreath.the big 1's are different
Probably the same mint variety? Any Russian collector to confirm?
