Hi, we have two requests (second will have its own thread too) for Central Asia, which I attempt to solve. However, I know nothing about this kind of coinage, so I would be glad for any confirmation or modification of given info anyone can provide. :°

See the following paper that is available on jstor:

Fedorov, M., The "Bukhar Khudat" type drachms and "Black dirhems" in money circulation of medieval Central Asia, Central Asiatic Journal, 2010

To answer your question, its complicated as the article indicates as they are several versions of this coin. But if you want to paint this with an extremely wide brush, then the answer is somewhat correct. Here are the illustrations from the paper above:

looking written and currency references, I can say is this:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces80509.html
Drachm - Bukharkhudates - Caliph al-Mahdi - 775-786 AD - Sogdiana "Transoxiana" Arab-Bukharan

It is currently inserted in the Islamic states section
as this is the medieval period of Persia
under the Arab rule

there are also references in the section of the Central Asia
but they are of different sovereigns coins

this type: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces74593.html
is number 1 of Quant.Geek illustration

this type: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces71935.html
on this I did request to change photos and dating
to insert the coins to catalog n° 3 and 4
https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=2126718

your coin is number 8
not imitation minted by Samanids but citing al-Mahdi
my question is to keep this type of coins in the category Central Asia (category in my broken)
or terenre such as ARAB-Sasanian coins cataloged in Islamic states (in my opinion the most correct because the medieval period Persian..
together with the other Arab-Sasanian coins

what do you think?
Thank you both.

I think that I will endorse your knowledge. B) I am really lost with these.
