It's a currency that has spanned many centuries and many countries. There's plenty of weird and wonderful types. One of my favourites belongs not to India but East Africa instead.



ofcourse i love them all but in the interest of seeing why you all have I won't post all of mine :D
Hyrulean rupees are my favourite ones ... you can even find them in high grass ;)

To me the Awadh Rupee was one of the most spectacular.

I think this is one the beautiful rupee, not too clutered but really impressive.

Was also one of the first coins I found in our house many years ago which ignited the passion
I've always wanted a Mombasa rupee Mark! you bagged a good one!
I'm partial to this Bikaner rupee... I have a couple and they are a conversation piece with Ganga Singh's turban ... and the various Royal symbols on the reverse

Thanks, I've had it years they're about £20 more now for a similar grade too ! I like that rupee too I've looked at them a few times ;p

I love most Rupee's. The varieties are addictive to hunt down.

That looks like apukings ! :) I love all the states milled coinage I have a dewas junior branch 1/4 Anna on the way. I can't tell you how happy I am they're that scarce !

​Those are some really fantabulous rupee coins.
Each coin has its own intrinsic value, never disregard any coin be it a penny or a mohur.
I just got these two and they made me remember this thread.
