With UK pound coins, you have a very good chance of getting a fake one in circulation, in
May 2015 an estimated 2.55% of circulating £1 coins in the UK were fake.

There have been many threads here showing fake coins,
this one is the newest with many examples of UK £1 coins.
So I reckon if you have a mismatched obverse/reverse, it is more than likely a fake.
