More revealed to show what they once were..........

You can just about make out the right facing bust in second image.

Two figures standing

Bust facing right with ribbon from back of the head streaming down to the bottom coin edge

Not much revealed on this one. Reverse seems like a strong off strike

Large figure from waist up on the obverse.

Awesome results on some of these! :wiz:

Hats off :)
Great stuff Lee, I didn't think that any details would have survived on the culls.
The 1st 2 shown should be identifiable, 1st either arcadius, Honorius or maybe Gratian.
The 2nd looks like a Constantius ii coin.
It just goes to show that no matter what state they are in at least some details can be saved.
I hope they havnt been giving you too hard a time Lee, hope there has been at least some enjoyment whilst dealing with these little buggers :°
I will go through my bags again to see if there is anything in a good condition with the odd spot on it, nothing too valuable though ;)
I deny nothing but doubt everything, opinions are made to be changed, how else is the truth to be gotten at.
They haven't been a problem yet, everything running smooth. The detail is exposed because I slowly strip the charred remains of the verdigris off and when I see any type of detail. Rubbing it it harshly will kill the details left as that is also delicate after being covered for so long.

My method seems to work perfectly now, but I bet it is only a matter of time before I get one that will prove a headache with no details left. :~ It took me just under an hour to do all 3.

Still more to come...left the tiny coins until last, they will be a challenge for sure!

Once they are finished I will send them back to ninebobnote to be able to give an opinion from seeing them first hand.

What I am doing must be such a taboo for some, horrified at clearing/restoring any details on what are coins destined to be lost forever in the near future.

I think you are doing a great job saving these coins from the grave yard. Keep it up my friend. Ed
