I had 10000 coins by year, but it got to the point that it was taking so much space and it was so hard to keep it organized. Once I hit 10000 I decided to stop collecting by year and collect only by type. At the moment I have a bit over 6000 types but I realized that chasing numbers is not so good for my collection. As I was trying to only have as many as possible different types, my collection was growing only in size, but not in quality. Out of 6000 coins, 5000 are pennies and nickels from around the world :)
According to Numista my collection weighs 148.5kg but I only weigh 69kg.
Anyone who wants that in English I weigh 11 stones whereas my collection weighs 23 stone 5 pounds
I think I need to eat a great amount of pies.
So much football to referee, I do not think I will ever get to 148.5kg. Have three games this weekend. Just finished my first game.
Count me in. I just made it past 3,000 a number of months ago. Then I got tired and haven't do much with coins. I mostly use numista so the endless in fighting and lack of direction for the website kind of burned me out. This might help me invigorate my collection.
Polisciprof you are a lucky man if that the only thing your wife says about your coin collection
Yes jadejackal there are some growing pains here. I even had some burn out. But , it is a good site. I look at it this way, If you are in the forest and find trash, Don't stop going to the woods an enjoying yourself. Trash is every where now. When you get more than 10 people the trash comes in
What I like about this is there are more than enough coins in the catalog to get there without making a big deal out of anything.
Maybe the club should have stages
10,000 coins you are a first degree club member
20,000 coins you are a second degree member
30,o00 coins third degree
40,ooo coins fourth degree
50,000 coins you are a master coin hoarded. ( King )
Iam a very bad coin hoarder myself.
