Anyone who can show with pictures the difference between the narrow date and wide date for the Chile 1 peso 1992 (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1866.html)
I've got only 1 so I can't compare which one I have.
Krause lists only 1992 with wide and narrow dates, the later years of this type are listed as having narrow dates. If you google pictures of 1 peso like I did you can find a later date (e.g. 1993) where the date is clearly narrower than on your coin. Therefore yours has a wide date.
I collect coins and tokens which circulated in Africa from 18th century to 2000. I sell about 7000 illustrated world coins from http://www.avscoins.com.
As a chilean myself, and after asking a other collectors, it seems the "1 peso 1992 narrow date" was a mistake by the Krause.
Nobody has it, and out of thousands of 1 peso coins, that variety doesn't appear anywhere. So it's an actual extremely rare coin, or it's just a simple mistake in the catalog.
Maybe it was mistaken by the 1 Peso KM# 216.2 (a coin with narrow dates), as in the 2013 edition it doesn't have the 1992 date for that coin, even thought it actually exists.
Thank you very much for all this interesting information Spookie, Verbamint, Andrey and Daryl. Of course I googled first before I asked my question. And I saw a lot of 1 peso 1992 pictures there but they were all the same. But now after all this information from you all I understand why I only found 1 type.
And I'm very sorry for my late response and thanks. Although it really interests me very much I have to admit I almost totally neglected the forum the last four months because I always was to busy. So I have a lot of catching up to do now.
