I've a few coins which purchases require to be finalized... So not done yet.
Why didn't you call it "Januany 2016 additions of your collection"?

I could not find it on here, so will add it soon. Copper, 28mm diameter.
Obverse: PAYABLE AT W · CROOMS HIGH STREET DUNDEE
DEI DONUM PRUDENTIA ET CANDORE
Reverse: SELLS WHOLESALE WOOLEN & LINEN DRAPERY GOODS WATCHES &c &c CHEAP
The "&c &c" is that an old cool way to write "et cetera"?
I mean, since the &-sign comes from the latin word 'et' (and), so it seems plausible to me anyway.
It looks like that is the case. http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/%26c.
"ET CETERA. A Latin phrase, which has been adopted into English; it signifies. "and the others, and so of the rest," it is commonly abbreviated, &c."

As Neil said, the first coin of 2016 added to your collection. If you bought more than 1 coin on the same day then it would be the first one you paid for unless they were both purchased in one go.

That was not the purpose of my reply, but no matter.
If the coins are still unID and may arrive in the same time as easy-to-ID coins, I think the easy-to-ID may win that way, right?

I just purchased an uncirculated St. Pierre and Miquelon 1 Franc (KM1) for $10 from my local coin shop.
Pretty happy with my purchase, even if I overpaid.
Sorry, no picture at the moment.
I just picked up my first coins of 2016. I can't pick a first one because I bought them both at the same time. I got an 1835 William IV shilling and an 1870 Maundy twopence. I'll post pictures in a couple of days when they arrive and start up the "January additions to your collection" thread
Quote: "mic-w-nl"He guys, this is what I received today.
please have a good look and guess what I paid for it :-)
Considering the 1920's Danzig Guldens, I'm guessing you got them for a fraction of their worth?

The left coin is catalogued with Poland but was minted in Berlin for the reduced Kingdom of Prussia after France annexed its western territories. It should be listed with other Prussian coins of German States.
I would be too afraid to waste a small fortune on fakes. I own a nice 1932 1/2 Gulden and those are around 30 EUR I believe. The 5 Gulden pieces are the pricy ones.
To me they appear real but be aware a lot of fakes exist.
Well, I pulled $12.25 of mostly pre-1950 coins out of the world coins bulk bins at my local coin shop (and the dealer nicely rounded down to an even $10). And then, to avoid becoming "that guy who just sits for a half hour rummaging through the junk bins for a few bucks of weird foreign coins", I bought a nice and shiny uncirculated 1963 Franklin half dollar for my type set of classic US coins.

They look like possible fakes actually...
I paid total less the 12€ for them, but ....

indeed replicas! (clear already, during buying)
I'm surpricsed about the qualities, and doubt if I should noticed myself (in case I bought for full price) ....

My first coin was, as a gift from a polish swapper, a ... canteen token,, that was located at 20 km from you home
I've used this coins in the past, to get a cup of coffee :-)
i don't think they are used anymore, but if you like, I still can give you a cup of coffee for it, here in Amersfoort ;-)
Alright here's my first purchase, as per normal my scanner doesn't do the coin justice, but they're a beautifully toned William IV shilling and a Victorian Maundy twopence
He said it was gem proof, but I'm guessing just (B)UNC? As it appears to have come straight from a set
Any comments?
I'm not too bothered either way considering the price I got it for, but what would your suggestion be on grade.
Thanks.

As I'm excluding tokens which arrived simultaneously, I'll consider the winners are... Lorraine coins.
