An exotic piece [solved]

Hello all,
Recently I got this piece as a gift, I tried searching on my own for a few days but I wasn't able to identify it or the alphabet inscriptions are in. It's most likely not a coin too. Has anyone seen anything like it?

First of all, determine the alphabet: Ethiopia?

Agreed. May be 1970 on Ethiopian calendar (1977 / 1978)

Itsd Ethiopia, 25 birr.
And, if You`ll decide to swap it by chance, please let me know. I collect African coins, and miss this one.
best

Thank you Zac! Somehow I managed to forget Ethiopians have their own alphabet, and I study history, shameful. I could not expect this to be such a rare piece, would seem highly unlikely that such a beauty would end up in a pawn shop in Lithuania, but it did.
I'll remember you collect African coins Dato, however, I think I'll keep this one for myself.
