Many years ago I had 200+ old Indian coins that I did not have a hope of identifying and they were confined to a rarely visited corner in my collection thinking that I would never be able to identify them or understand anything about their origins and history.

Now, thanks to the internet and help from the members of numista.com and the South Asian Coin Group I now have the following coins documented and proudly taking place alongside the rest of my collection.

Ancient India - 27
Mughal - 19
Indian States - 197
Islamic Caliphates 5
Persianic States 6

I would like to thank you all for your valuable help over the years and for sharing your knowledge and expertise. Numista.com and all its members have not only increased my joy in collecting coins. It has considerable enhanced my knowledge and understanding of numismatics.

Thanks so much

Roy
Well said Roy, you are a gentleman in every respect.

Thank you in turn for adding those same coins to the catalog so that others can benefit from your efforts.

I second this post.

Many coins I have been stumped on searching for hours (Don't learn anything without hunting for them), .......then I ask here and members jump at the chance to help and in most cases outright solve the ID

Thank you to all those who have contributed to selflessly helping others.

*Round of applause*

ZacUK deserves a mention for his way of answering a query in easy to understand terms and often with photographs created just for that purpose, which makes minor differences in varieties or the location of dates etc. so easy to follow.

Yes all of the above and more, Quaintgeek, Josephpk, And for me personally Derf (Notgeld) and Imreh (Ancients and Hungarian) have always gone to great lengths to offer help. Many others of course, some long gone.

The Coin ID section is blessed with some really great members.
