Identification of 2 Roman era coins

7 posts
Hi, I have these 2 Roman era looking coins. I need help identifying them and just some basic knowledge about them. Also I have been unable to find them on the Numista catalog, if they are here can someone give me the links? Thanks in advance.

If you can read some of the legend, you can search this site:

Non est totum quod splendet ut aurum
Rijkdom bestaat niet uit het hebben van veel bezittingen, maar in het hebben van weinig behoeften
Without determining the portrait and being able to read some of the legend, it would become a monstrous task to find the coins in wildwinds.  Based on the portrait, I think the coins are the following (coin images are from WildWinds and hence are NOT mine):

Roman Empire: Constans (347-348 CE) AE3 Reduced Follis (RIC VIII-116)

Obv: D N CONSTANS P F AVG, diademed head right
Rev: VOT XV MVLT XX within wreath. Mintmark SMANI

Roman Empire: Constans (347-348 CE) AE17 Follis (RIC VIII-62)

Obv: DN CONSTA-NS PF AVG, pearl-diademed head right
Rev: GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS, two soldiers holding spears and shields with one standard between them, dot on banner, dot to left and right of banner top. Mintmark SMANI

Good job!!

Hi, thanks for you help. I think you might of gotten the identification wrong on this coin. On the reverse of the coin you have shown the circles on the stand apear to be filled but the circles on my coin are hollow with a dot in the center, and on the obverse the neck of the bust on the coin you have shown apears to be longer than the one on the coin I have. Could my coin possibly be a different one? Thanks again for your help with the other coin, hope this will help you identifying my coin other one.

Quite possible.  The identification of the second one was a bit tough as there are several coins that can fit the bill.  The banner is difficult to make out in your coin.  Since you have the coin in your hand, I suggest you go through WildWinds under Constans and try to match your coin with the 10 or so coins that are present.  Just look for the coins with GLOR and try to match the soldiers with the banner.
