I know it's more notaphily than numismatic, but thought I'd ask anyway.
I read an article a while ago about serial numbers on banknotes, radar, repeaters, doubles, etc., but have only just started to look at the notes in my pocket.
I have a UK £10 note with the serial number HH22 227878.
So, is this worth just £10 in beer, or could someone on an unnamed auction site be interested?
It's not UNC, has a double fold through the middle, and not as crisp as it should be.

I'm not an expert in any kind of coins, but I reckon I'm good at research and will do my best to help. Feel free to tell me my identifications/valuations/gradings are wrong. It's the only way I'll learn.
I thought so, even though it's got elements of repeats, it's just a little too contrived.
I'll probably spend it on beer then!

Well, I'm sat in the pub right now, and I'm checking the change I'm getting. So yes, best of both worlds!
Although I've not spent that tenner just yet.

There was a thread a while ago in the Free Discussion forum where I posted a pic of a USSR 1 Ruble that I found in circulation many years ago.... uh, found it:
I don't think it's worth very much in this condition, though, but it's a fun little note.
And bizarrely enough, I got quite a nice fake £1 coin last night, too.
(with a genuine one for comparison)

I remembered tonight where I put my special banknote -
which as you can see has NO serial numbers!
The Uncirculated note on the left (I have the following serial number ending 358 as well) I got as a comparison. Also as a reminder of the last UK £1 note before the £1 coin was introduced.
P.S. Curiously the Bank of England decided only one ten-digit serial number was needed, so there is no other on the front (or back) of that note design.

Edit: Wow! I just realised this thread was created in 2015!
It would be super cool to do that with notes that have been in circulation instead of them being pulled out before they hit the banks.

Technically your 1st pic is a low number note. If it were a unc and combine with maybe 50 over years, it would have worth alot. But Don think it will worth alot. Maybe 10 or 20 bucks plus face value. I am not sure myself.
I also own a low number note that has been circulated to my hand. But its like in fine condition. So same only afew dollars more.
