Chinese coin

 On Saturday this was among the items I bought for £1 and is the only coin I cannot identify. Diameter is 23mm, and 1mm thick; weight unknown. Please add a Numista link if you can - thanks.  :)

It was in the same bag that had a lot of coins - including both a 1971 UK 1 New Penny, and a 1767 French 12 Deniers, so either could be right (an old Chinese coin or a modern replica).  :)

It looks real to me.
How is this a modern replica? It's as common as it gets.

1 pound is a little too much for this coin, but ay it's almost 300 years old
