1886 TF Peru one sol

Hello,

I am fairly new to numismatics, so I don't know much about damaged coins values. So I wanted to ask about this coin I picked up at a yard sale a while back. It is an 1886 TF Peru one sol. When I bought it it was encased in plastic which I removed. The problem is that it seems that some plastic stuck to the coin around the rim. So my questions are, what is this coin worth? And I want to know about coins that get encased in plastic and what it does to the coin?

P.S. Sorry about the rotated images, I have no idea how to fix that.
I would try a quick soak in pure acetone, it may dissolve the residue.

Will it harm the coin?
Welcome
No, no harm with acetone, just be very careful because it is flammable.
Or you can try nail polish remover without acetone.

I wouldn't use nail polish remover, firstly it has often coloring agents ... but it is unlikly to make a color change on your coin ... but secondly they are nearly always scented and your coin will smell like a parfum bottle for a long time  ;)
Thanks for all your advice and quick replies. I just watched a video on cleaning coins with acetone and I might try it.
That's correct, but the remover I use is a clear liquid without some scent.
The coin can always be rinsed with clear water after using the remover or acetone.

I tried scentless nail polish remover and it worked! I successfully removed all the plastic around the rim. Thanks again for all your advice.

These are after cleaning pictures.
