Great Britain 1 shilling 1816

Hi !
I just picked up this one :

What's your opinion ? Contemporary fake ? Weight is only 4,25g...
Would it still have some value then ?

Thanks !

Looks like a contemporary fake to me. Should have some value as a curiosity.

indeed looks fake.
could be tested to see it is silver

So my guess was right. No extreme loss, although I d prefer an original...
Thank you all for the input !

Contemporary fake.  I had one very much like it were it was a copper coin that had initially been silver plated.  You couldn't really tell from the photo that he put on the auction website because the colour was all off, but when I got it in my hand I could see immediately that it was copper.  I picked it up for NZ$10, but rather than ask for my money back, I turned around and listed it as a contemporary forgery and sold it for NZ$15.  Those forgeries are quite popular to collectors and in some cases can actually be worth more then the original coin.
same here, I asked about one I have a few weeks ago, the accuracy was incredible comparing it to the real thing. if it had a decent plate on it I would never have known.
