What does this coin sheet read?

I see "oe Penny" instead of "1/2 Penny"

0xBD = "1/2" in ISO-8859-1 encoding
0xBD = "oe" in ISO-8859-15 encoding

The source code says the page is encoded in ISO-8859-1, but the browser displays it in ISO-8859-15 ;(
This is with both Firefox 36 and Chrome.

When I save the page as an html file and open the file, the browser uses the correct ISO-8859-1, but when I load the page online, it doesn't.
Could this be a problem of the Numista site?

There are 2750 pages which now show  ½ in the title instead of ½, ¼ and so on (all fractions).
If the ½ is being replaced by ½ it works again, but I fear it all will have to be done by hand.

(Edit: made it back oe again, just to be sure, text above stays true)

This error has caused problems with even more pages, as on all pages that had ¼ on them, this ¼ now has been deleted.

For example in the description with this coin, K¼NIG became KNIG :

Also the pages of the French part have this error so approx. 6000 pages involved.

that's a workaround, that forces the site to use a "& #189;" code instead of the simple character.

But please don't change the K¼NIG by hand, because with the correct encoding, the K¼NIG will be a K¼NIG then.

You can always make your browser use the correct encoding by clicking "Western"/"Latin1" in the menu, but this only works until you visit the next page
Mexico has the same issue with the 1/4 being "OE" and the 1/2 being "oe". This is why I never liked the use of unicode for fractions, they should use text fractions, it is simple and the characters aren't too small, as well as this would avoid any unicode issue.

I think that the encoding was abusively set wrong and so everything changed but at this moment the encoding seems alright again, because otherwise the oe that I changed back to 1/2 would have become oe again, or am I wrong here ?  I think that it only hasn't also automatically changed everything to the former again. I also don't think that it is possible to change this automatically again because KOENIG became KNIG (so no 1/4). I hope I am wrong, anyway let's wait till Xavier comes online.
I'm just interested why in 2015 there are still websites that are not in utf-8...

Hello all,
I need to update the reverse a configuration I made yesterday. I will be able to do it only tonight. In the meantime, it's useless to modify the coin pages.
The encoding has been changed back to ISO-8850-1  :)

You're right, I should probably update Numista to a more modern encoding.
