That is the figure for coinage entered into general circulation for 2008 for KM#986 - there is an additional figure of 507,952,000 for 2008 for KM#1107, Matthew Dent's shield design

Since we've drifted off the subject slightly, can we also add the following mintage data for coins in general circulation for UK KM#1107 (again from the Royal Mint site):

2008   507,952,000
2009   556,412,800
2010   412,002,000

(no completed figures yet for 2011)
