This place has a solid world collection, which is unusual for American coin stores. The staff is helpful, but primarily focused on US coins and bullion. They do have a gentlemen who specializes in foreign coins, however. They're open Tues-Saturday. I prefer this place of all the Houston stores.

This coin store is more focused on rarities and its prices reflect that. The staff is a little gruff and can usually tell if you're in their price range. Their attitudes reflect their estimation of your wallet size. I tend to skip going here, especially because parking is a pain in the area.

Went once, never going back. They offered me bullion value for a coin that was worth $400 for collectors (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces10301.html). I offered the sale only to see how honest they'd be after I heard poor feedback from other collectors.

US Coins sold me 3 graded commemorative halves and a three cent nickel for a fair price, but they don’t know or care about anything non-US whatsoever. I found 3 ancients in a cabinet and some Krugerrands and that was it. Staff seemed very cold for whatever reason. 5/10 probably won’t go again.

Royal Coins Houston does have nice world coins and banknotes for sale. A lot of the world stuff comes really cheap! Good selection (although the world coins aren’t sorted very well) and friendly staff. 9/10 will go again soon.

I’ll also mention GoldWiser, a bullion company with a few locations out in the suburbs that also sells coins. They also have one location out in Foley, Alabama. People seemed nice enough, but they tried to sell me a Maria Theresia Thaler for $100 and a silver 50 franc coin from Luxembourg (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces12411.html) for $110. No way. I can’t attest to their prices for jewellery, watches etc. which they also claim to sell, but a no-go for coins.
A US collector from CCF loves to get his coins & banknotes from Allen's Coins, Currency & Supplies. I have had no experience with them but did check out their banknotes & if they're accurately graded (images don't always connect to note advertised) then I must give them credit for keeping their world banknote stock inexpensive (esp for a LCS). The next time I travel to the US, I will check out some of their LCS since many US collectors seem to have a much lower regard for World compared to their own currency (which considering how common, is getting priced out of reach).

Any time I've been to Colonial Acres Coins they have had most of their stock stored away for auction (which meant I couldn't see or buy it). Great friendly staff but I've only bought supplies from them thus far (& they beat a drive to TO).
