Also, if someone could read what's written on it.

Hi,

It's Shah Jahan Rupee AH 1040 Mint Lahore.

Obverse has Kalima in the circle and AH date below. Reverse has the name of emperor and Mint name.

Here is some more information:
Mughal empire
http://www.chiefacoins.com/Database/Countries/Mughal.htm
AH1040=about 1630-1631AD
Shah Jahan : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shah_Jahan
He was the builder of the Taj Mahal.

Read on the coin from left to right, bottom to top
Bottom line rev is the mintplace (Lahore)
The thick line at the bottom right of the rev is 'Zarb' or 'zarb-i' what means 'struck' or 'struck at'
Kalima : Laa ilaaha ill allah
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_Kalimas
On coins usually the first kalima is used.
The legend around the coin is unknown to me.
You can send the pictures to one of these site for help:
http://www.chiefacoins.com/ (Haseeb will help if he finds the time)
or : http://www.zeno.ru/
The regnal year (RY) is not visible (off flan) and can be 3 or 4
Some bussinessmen did put their on marks on these coins to say that they accepted this coin as good money.
I think the little rounds on the coin have the same purpose.
The coins of this emperor are more difficult to find because one of his sons Aurangzeb re-used the coins.
Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son.
Very nice coin!!!
Corrections are welcome.

Hello Gaurav

Below are the complete details, enjoy.

Reference: KM# 227.7 Rupee. Year: AH 1040. Reignal Year could be 3 or 4, which is missing on the coin. Anyhow year = 1630 AD.
Date 1040 is clearly seen at 5 o' clock on the image 1.jpg you send.
Weight: Around 11.44g ?.
Metal: Silver.
Diameter: Around 21.00 mm ?.
Edge: Plain.
Alignment: Coin / Medal / Rotated ?
Mint: Lahore.
Obverse (1.jpg): "lā ilāha illā -llāh, muḥammadur rasūlu -llāh" [Shahada, First Kalima of Islam in center circle (There is no other god but Allah and Muhammad is the last messenger of Allah)]. First Four caliphs names outside the circle: "bi-sudq Abi Bekr" (bottom left), "wa adil Umar" (top center), "bi-azram Uthman" (top right),  "wa ailm 'Ali" (bottom right; please note that the date 1040 is written between "wa ailm" and "Ali").

Reverse (2.jpg): It is Arabic so you have to read from right to left. This is the completete title of the King Shah Jahan. Please note that you have to read the King's full name on the coin from bottom to top as "Sahib-e-Qiran Shahab ad-Din Muhammd Shah Jahan Badshah Ghazi".

First Line: "Badshah Ghazi" [written at the top. but your coin shows very small details which is not readable. Badshah Ghazi means King Warroir].
Second Line: "ad-Din Muhammd Shah Jahan" ["ad-Di" on the right side is missing on your coin; your coin start from n ... ]
Third Line: "Sahib-e-Qiran Shahab" ["Sa" which also had the reginal number is missing on the right side of your coin. Sahib-e-Qiran means the person knowing to read and understand the Holy book Quran].
Fourth Line: "Zarb Lahore" ["Zar" is missing on the right side of your coin. Zarb Lahore mean struck at Lahore].

Mintage: N/A. [Common Type].
Mintage years with this type and mint: AH1039//3, AH1040//3, AH1040//4, AH1041//4, AH1041//5 and  AH1042//5.

So your coin could be AH1040//3 or AH1040//4.
