Coins ID- May be too corroded though :(

4 posts
Hi all

I was given some (Roman?) Coins by a detectorist but fear they may be too badly damaged by oxydisation to identify  :(

The one on the left measures approximately 17mm across the widest part, the other is around 15mm..

Many thanks for any info  ;)

Kind regards, John  :)
I used to be indecisive but now i'm not so sure!!
Oops!!

Just noticed that the right hand coin in the second pic is upside down!!  z)  z)

It's a man holding a stave or staff with some decorations on top  8~

I turned the  pic around and cropped it from the pic!

Not that it's much better but through my loupe I can make out that the figure is looking towards the right (His left!) his left arm is out holding the staff and his right arm is going straight out from the shoulder then down from the elbow as though he's going to thrust a sword!!

Sorry for the vagueness of the pics  :(

Kind regards, John  :)

These are pretty corroded.  Usually you need to see some lettering to be able to make a confifant identification.

Here are some websites I use for similar coins:
