Belgium Allied Occupation 1944 2 Franc Wrong Weight?

So I picked up a '44 Allied issue Belgium 2 Franc that is in amazing shape but the weight is off - 2 grams as opposed to 2.75. The size is correct and all looks ok except for the weight. Could it vary that much? The is almost no wear that I can see on the coin. I'll post pics if I hear that it shouldn't be that light. Thanks!

I have one for over 30 years and it looks brand new as well. Unfortunately, I don't have an exact scale.

These 2 fr coins were minted using the same planchets as the US steel penny. Perhaps you can compare those?

mine weighs in at 2.68 grs. and is magnetic (alloy zinck - steel).
