I went to log on to Numista at work yesterday and received a message saying that Numista had been blocked from access because it had been identified as containing malware! What the hell??
Since I mainly use it from work wen I'm looking up coins, I may need to switch programmes and start using something like Colnect instead.

I do have Ghostry installed and I can see all malware tracks and analysis trackers who spy and analyse data.
Alas Numista is not as safe as I would like to, but let us be realistic there are no safe sites anymore, only as safe as possible computers and users that care about their privacy.
Further one, I must to admit that Numista compared with other sites isn't that unsafe at all (only three trackers attached).
The problem is I don't have control over what sites are allowed at work, so I just have to lump it. You'll see me on here a lot less as I'll only be able to get on in the evenings.

It might just be that excessive use of Numista site was noted in work server and whoever manages network blocked it for better workplace efficiency.
Happened in my workplace a while ago. All the most used sites blocked with message comings that they are unsafe and after a while workplace severs disabled all access to all external Internet sites from most of computers. To have people work and not surf on work time...
I've checked the site on Norton SafeWeb and ScanURL, comes up as no threat on either.
The problem with sites being blocked at work is that, as KartWay says, probably workplace efficiency. We have that often, when random (non-work) sites are blocked. If you have a policy at work where you're allowed to use non-work sites on breaks or at lunchtime, then it might be worth contacting whoever manages this and explaining. They may have just lumped a whole lot of URLs, put them on the blocked list, and are just waiting for someone to ask to unblock.

I'm not an expert in any kind of coins, but I reckon I'm good at research and will do my best to help. Feel free to tell me my identifications/valuations/gradings are wrong. It's the only way I'll learn.
I would doubt that it's a workplace efficiency thing, because I'm the only one that uses it. However Facebook, flickr, yahoo, stuff.co.nz, the local auction site Trademe and many others are used by most workers during work time and they have not been banned. I'm not about to speak up thoughor they might start monitoring my internet use
Ladies and Gents,
I am not sure I am on the right track, but it seems like the incident I had in June, here is my correspondance with Ben on it, I hope Ben, you do not mind, as it is nothing personal:
Frequently malware comes in the form of the adverts delivered by external sites (and I am including the BIG advertising agencies). That was one reason I had to stop carrying advertising on my own web site, too many viruses coming through the adverts which then of course were blamed on me.
