Unknown South African coin? [solved]

Hi all, I wonder if you could help identify this coin.

Think it's from S Africa but not sure, been looking on this site as well in a world catalogue.

It is a 2/6d (two shillings and sixpence) half crown coin from United Kingdom. It was made in 1947, the first year of cupro-nickel metal - the previous years were silver in part. Some places mention pre-47 coins wanted/for sale as they have more value merely for the metal content. There were four crowns to a pound (pre-decimal, so twenty shillings) or eight half crowns. They do look a bit like South African coins (as they had the same kings and queens on, for a while).

That is the similar South African coin - slight difference on lettering on both sides (especially the reverse, as it mentions South Africa). I notice also that they were later in changing from silver to cupro-nickel as they continued until 1960 I think.

OOOoooo nice thank you very much.

Now I feel stupid looking at S Africa for hours lol. But indeed they look alike. But instead of the date, this 1 has crowns on the side.

I guess another way of finding it is to click on   Search   then type in some of the lettering. So from the front I chose the name and from the back the date; I typed in   GEORGIVS 1947   and admittedly there were 41 coins found. But it makes it easier - though in this case it was the very last one in the list displayed (the first one at the top of page 3). Displaying 20 coins per page that is.

Not sure what the crowns instead of date means, but I hope I found yours! Though I would recognise it anyway as I am in the United Kingdom (where I think it is from) and you are in Belgium. Glad to have helped :)
