I just recently acquired a 1939 CL 1 Real Coin. It looks authentic. But it only weighs 1.3 grams. It is supposed to weigh 3.38 grams. It is exactly the same size as the 1852 to 1863 1 Real Coins KM # 598.1 and 606.1 (15 mm wide) and the weight they are listed at 1.31 grams. I have several of the KM 598.1 and 606.1 coins.
Can anyone tell me what the weight is supposed to be for the KM #518.1 coin is?
There are 5 monetary systems in Isabel II. The first, second and third have coins of 1 Real.
1.- 1833-1848, weight 1,49 g., diameter 15 mm, 82,1% silver
2.- 1848-1854, weight 1,31 g., diameter 15 mm, 90,0% silver
3.- 1854-1864, same weight and size as second system.
Then your new coin must weight 1,49 g. Forget Krause.
