In that case you can take about 15-20 off my silver coin tally. I've got a 40% Kennedy half, a 10% Mexican peso. a couple of 40% Mexican silver coins and some 40% silver 10, 25 and 50 ore coins from Sweden
I started collecting on 1st Jan 2013 as a new years resolutuion, only silver at first, but then started accumulating non silver I like too much to not include in my collection!!
I run an advanced search on Numista clicking "in" collection, and just metal "Silver" Results show all coins that include the words "billon" and "silver". So it shows all coins with silver percentage from 10% to 100%.

Ah, thanks Lidian. That answers my question I was going to ask - "is there an easy way to check what silver coins you have".
I only currently have about 4 silver coins over .500 - so about 0.003%!
72 (I haven't counted the silver plated coins as 'silver coins') out of 5872, so 1.23% of all my coins is made of silver. And that also means that on every 82 non-silver coins, I have one silver coin!

hi,
not only bullion 1 oz silver coins. have german kaiserreich silver coins and 1 kg silver coins. after my post I did remember that I have all UNO 1981 silver coins in 2 different folders and 5 folders with the compl. set of" year of the child" from 1979 to 1982 . there is a chance that I get some more from my swap.
It doesn't tell me the total number of coins, just shows me the types. I will count better later, I think I am off on my coins,,,,,, Especially since I just bought about 200 more silver ones.
How many different types (Not dates/ defined by different numista listing) silver do you have? Right as of now, I have 89 different types.

ok, 245 coins, 225 silver coins ,75 different numista listings. my silver content of all silver coins drops to .940;
I have 2690 different coins, according to a search 509 of them are silver of some sort. So 18.92% are silver. That seems about right as far as a ratio of what circulated, with the bulk of my collection having been minted in the last 150 years.
Still, once it's done, you only need to worry about adding any extra ones you buy, which is far less tedious. I would export to an excel spreadsheet once your done unless you're already got your own spreadsheet

No I do not, what are the benefits from exporting to excel?
Yea true, I still am pumping away. Uploading when I can, and sleeping or working the rest of the time.

For one, you can add more information that is not in Numista, like the catalogue value or the ASW of the silver coins. It makes it easier to add up the value of your collection or the total silver content.
secondly if this site goes belly-up, you won't need find another site to re-enter all your information, you'll still have a copy of all your information.
Thirdly, if you list all the coins you plan to collect and mark off the ones you have, it makes it easier to see what you still need at a glance, which isn't always easy with Numista
174 out of 3235 makes 5.4% (including 12 coins with less than 50% silver)
Total ASW adds up to 30.7964 troy ounces. For those of us blessed with a metrical system: that's almost a whole kilo of silver (958 grams to be precise)

13418 coins, 18% of them or 2452 are silver. 2nd place only behind cupronickel.
The silver weighs 12.1kg of the estimated 72kg in my collection.
I also have 37 gold coins weighing 269 grams in my collection and 2 x 1/10 oz gold rounds not counted.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

9 Years down the line, I am at 235 silver coins in a collection of 4052, which is 5.8%. Nice!
With a total ASW of 45.2 troy ounces (1406 grams), I gloriously passed the 1 kg mark of pure silver.
18.89% according to Numista, but I would consider it a little higher. The bi-metallic Mexican silver doesn't count, and the ‘billon’ with a smaller percentage of silver as well.
3.63% according to Numista. I would imagine it to be a tad higher because I received lots of non-commemorative silver coins as a kid and I do not typically upload them on Numista.

They weigh 17.9kg out of 87.9kg total collection. This is raw silver weight, not entire weight of the silver coins, all of which some base metal in them. This is 20.36% of my total collection weight.
The silver purity ranges from 10% (Mexcian late pesos and East African Shilling) to 99.99% silver bullion. Highest percentage for a coin that's not bullion is 98.7% for a Maltese liri and highest % for an actual circulating coin thats not bullion or NCLT issue is 94.5% for 1800s Dutch 1 and 2½ guilder coins. I also have a lot of sterling silver (0.925) and half silver (0.500) coins in that lot.
Many of the silver coins are stacking coins (At least 2kg of 50% silver and 3kg of 90% or 92.5% silver).
I have 45 gold coins which weigh a combined 426 grams as well. 29 are gold sovereigns.

My count is really screwed by having something like 430 of the old decimal half-pennies; very numerous & very light.
Most of my silver is Sterling or better, largely made up of 1oz Brittanias, though I do have one colossus 5oz. Keeping eyeing up the full 1kg ones but just haven't got the disposable income yet. 🙃
I was never willing to collect expensive stuff, so:
My dashboard shows 51 g of silver (total collection weight is 13.7 kg). It amounts to 0.37%.
I have 24 silver coins and 24 billon coins. The collection (as registered on Numista) consists of 2831 coins. It amounts to 1.69% (counting billon) or 0.85% (without counting billon). The conclusion is that my silver hoard mostly consists of small coins.
Real figures are even smaller, because I didn't register some base metal coins on Numista.

Good point, I look at it this way.
I never chose the coins, they chose me.🤣
