Four more Indian Temple tokens [solved]

Hi Sujit
Can you give any info on these four. They look like variations of the same token and are silver or silver washed

thanks
Roy

Hi Roy,

Yes all variations of same RamaTanka, all appear to be silver washed brass. The reason could be because they were produced and used by so many different places in India for past couple of centuries.

Walder Coins posted couple of other examples here, https://en.numista.com/forum/topic31183.html

Not so far back I think I saw couple of examples in gold being sold by Baldwin's (I think). Those obviously are very expensive and rare to find.

I have entered them on the Numista link that you gave.

There is one more temple token that is smaller than the others and although the reverse is similar, the obverse is quite different. I will scan it over the next day or so and enter it on the forum.

They might have silver content(billon)

I have had another look at them and think that you are correct. It is not a silver wash and they do have some silver in them.

Thanks
Roy
