Our listings say there are 80 liards to a kronenthaler. Wikipedia gives a radically different number of 254 liards to the kronenthaler. Is Wikipedia just ridiculously wrong, or do our entries need to be changed?
errm - I took this information from a source somewhere on the internet - which is not neccessarily correct.
so... I would assume you're right. actually I really would like to have a list of all those
currencies before 20th century decimalizations.
Maybe someone with profound knowledge can confirm this claim?
Would Krause's Standard Catalog of World Coins 1701-1800 have that info? If so I could drop by my library and look it up.
Okay, I looked it up. Krause says:

  • 4 Liards = 1 Sol
  • 6 Sols = 1 Escalin
  • 20 Sols = 1 Florin
  • 54 Sols = 1 Kronenthaler
  • 60 Sols = 1 Ducaton
  • 7 Florins, 13 Sols = 1 Souverain d'or

So the correct figure would be 216 liards to the kronenthaler.
maybe! you see: wikipedia and krause interdict each other. and other sources have different values, too!
it does not make it easy to find the REAL correct value
