Indian Temple Tokens

Hi all,

A contact sent me these pics and asked if I could shed some light.
Help on authenticity and possible value would be great.

Cheers Alastair

Hi Walder,

Temple tokens like this circulated in India for centuries in various temples. Some might be as old as 200 years and some might be modern. By looking at the pictures, the 1st token's design looks bit out-of-ordinary. Most likely a older one with silver coated brass.

The second one however does not look very old. Here is a similar one i have, https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces44995.html

Both of them are the "Ramatanka" type token.

Value wise i think they are worth atleast $5 and up depending on collector's interest.

Hope this helps.
