Coin Grade "B"

I've notice the letter "B" in some personal comments on coins and (not trying to look ignorant :° ) just curious as to its meaning ?
  Are you sure it does not refer to a mintmark ?

 Like on that page the B is next to the date on the page; if it was a Personal Comment it would be on the right. The Grade is above the boxes and is VG F VF XF UNC. Where is the B on the page - can you send a picture? That example page has coins which sometimes have a mintmark and sometimes not.  :)

Don't think its a mintmark, and it is on the right side. I see it most with British coins ?
It could mean Basal, that's the lowest grade you can get.  It basically means a worn metal slug

Is it possibly a grade scale from another country ?
I was really hoping it didn't mean basal  :)
  Until I see a link or a picture of a page I guess it refers to orientation A or B, where a coin with edge lettering (when placed obverse side up on a table) has the edge lettering A correct or B upside-down.

  Must be a Personal Comment typed in by the person who's page that is; there is nothing like that on the actual coin page ...

I have seen it on a few more pages and always with British coins but had never seen it outside of Numista. Thanks for your help.
Can you include the URL of one of the pages where you see this?
After a little research it is the grading system for France  B=VG  TB=F  TTB= EF and so on .
  Yes - you are right.  :)

https://en.numista.com/numisdoc/estimer-l-etat-de-conservation-d-une-piece-71.html

 Each page on the French part has
Année    Tirage    B  TB  TTB  SUP  BU    Échange

B = Basal
TB = Très Beau
TTB = Très Très Beau
SUP = Superbe
BU = Brilliant Universel

 Though on that screen image there is no B shown for 1862 or 1904 unless it is on the right somewhere.
